Here are the questions. Would it really have made a difference who played the part of Edward in Twilight and the upcoming New Moon? Are the millions of adoring teenage fans and their mothers crazed over the character or the actor? How much does Robert Pattinson really mean for the character? Not to diminish Rob Pattinson’s ability or appeal as an actor but I think the millions of crazed fans are confused and are confusing the actor with the character.

The books have succeeded in portraying Edward as everyone’s ideal of a perfect partner. If your imagination is working you can picture anyone in the role of Edward. He is bad but good, kind, generous, devoted, faithful, intriguing, mysterious beautiful and forever young.

I’m sure that we could come up with thousands of descriptive words to describe Edward other than the few I have used. With that kind of bio who wouldn’t want a relationship with Edward? He never falters in his love or devotion. He is everyone’s ideal of a perfect partner.

Sorry, Robert but you were very fortunate to snag the role of Edward; it could have been another talented, attractive and intelligent actor to bring Edward to life. So take your good fortune and run with it. Characters as endearing as Edward are rare. Enjoy the ride and think about the fact that timing and luck are everything you could still be a virtual unknown.

Why Twilight’s Jacob Black Is Better Than Edward Cullen For Bella Swan

Please go and support us (:

Even though Edward Cullen captured Bella Swan’s heart in Twilight, here are the reasons I think that Jacob Black is a better match for her.

1. He’s tall, dark and handsome. Unlike Edward Cullen, his complexion isn’t the same color as “Plaster of Paris.”

Even though Edward Cullen’s skin glitters like diamonds in the sunlight, his aversion to the sun would likely put a rift in any relationship.

Did I mention that Jacob Black has perfect teeth?

2. Jacob has Bella’s best interest at heart. Bella and Jacob have known each other since they were small children, so he cares more about her than Edward does.

3. Edward’s family is still a bunch of vampires. If you think it’s hard to be a human vegetarian, imagine how difficult it is to be a vegetarian vampire. The very scent of blood could be enough to turn Bella into a dinner feast – in fact, Edward had a difficult time pulling away when he had to remove James’ venom in Twilight, so she should be concerned about being turned into eats.

4. Edward is always trying to pull away. Let’s face it. Relationships can be a real pain in the butt, especially if the object of your affection
is always trying to push you away. Bella deserves more than just a broken heart.

5. Werewolves are cooler. They have better eyesight, hearing and can run freely all day long. Since vampires never sleep being in a relationship with them gets tiresome. A girl needs her ‘beauty rest’ after all.

I, for one, look forward to seeing Jacob Black as a leading man in New Moon. The sequel begins production next month and stars Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black and Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen. New Moon has a US theatrical release date of November 20, 2009.

Twilight is still running in American theaters and has a DVD release date of March 21, 2009. The Twilight (Two-Disc Special Edition)is available for Pre-order now!

Robert Pattinson tells BOP how transforming into a movie vampire isn’t easy!

With his gold eyes and pale skin, Robert Pattinson totally looked the part of a dreamy vampire. But behind the scenes, he had a tough time turning into the perfect Edward Cullen.

“It was so frustrating!”

On the Twilight set, Rob had no idea what to expect when it came to hair and makeup. “I was shocked by it,” he admits. “Initially they wanted me to wear really long vampire hair, down to my waist. I wasn’t allowing that to happen!” Rob also struggled wearing contact lenses. “I can’t wear contacts,” he cringes. “It took me 20 minutes to get them in every morning.” Luckily for us, the final result was a superhot Edward!

“I’m terrible at baseball!”

Onscreen, Edward has a blast playing baseball with the Cullens. In real life, Rob admits it was superhard. “I’m really not a very sporty person,” he laughs. Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, shares, “Rob was kind of a trip. He’s cute, but he’s definitely not the most athletic of the bunch!” After a tons of practice, Rob managed to look like a pro in the movie and convinced us that he was totally meant to be Edward!

“I read all the Twilight books in one weekend!”

Personal details:

Rob was nervous about kissing Kristen Stewart. “It’s terrifying,” he reveals.
Rob is British but said he liked using his American accent in twilight!
Rob sings “Never Think” on the Twilight soundtrack.

Robert Pattinson compares Salvador Dali and Edward Cullen

Robert Pattinson isn’t just a pretty face. He is an actor who cares about the parts he plays and puts time and effort into researching each role.
Rob might be most famous for playing Edward Cullen in Twilight but he also played Salvador Dali in Little Ashes.
When About.com asked him whether playing Salvador Dali was similar to playing Edward, Robert replied: “It’s not that similar, but again it’s iconic because I guess that Edward is an iconic character too.
“But I just did the same thing, breakdown what you know about him.
“Also, there’s a ton of literature which he wrote and about him and then you just kind of build that back up again. Also, when I was playing him it was when he was very young, 18 to 26 and the story is about his descent or assent into this caricature of which everyone knows.
“He was this chronically shy kid when he was younger.
“So it’s really not playing Dali, per se, apart from towards the end of it – and I’m still not really playing him. It’s more the mood of Dali I think.”
