“Twilight” has officially morphed into a word that seems naked without a capitalized “Phenomenon” following it. And with good reason: Stephenie Meyer’s breathy, four-volume vampire saga has sold a gazillion copies, led to a movie, and inspired the kind of fan-gasm most authors would sacrifice fingers to achieve. Yes, Stephen King publicly called out Meyer as a hack, but who cares when everyone else fucking loves you? Borders in East Madison knows a winner when it sees one, so it’s decided to join the fun and host a big-ass vampire party on March 20 to coincide with the release of the Twilight DVD. In honor of this event, Decider checked out one of the most evil spawns of the Twilight Phenomenon—Twilight-inspired bands (none of which are on the schedule for the event)—to see how they stack up against the book.
Twilight, Stephenie Meyer (When heroine Isabella Swan first sees the vampires):
“And yet, they were all exactly alike. Every one of them was chalky pale, the palest of all the students living in this sunless town. Paler than me, the albino. They all had very dark eyes despite the range in hair tones. They also had dark shadows under those eyes—purplish, bruise-like shadows. As if they were all suffering from a sleepless night, or almost done recovering from a broken nose.”
Analysis: In 72 words, Meyer makes three references to pale skin, two to shadows, and one to sleepless nights. To sell millions of anything you have to have some discernable charms, but subtlety is not one of Twilight’s.
The Bella Cullen Project
Analysis: The reliance on red and black are obvious allusions to blood and hidden darkness (though the choice of a top hat might be a little too jaunty). Where the Bella Cullen Project appears to be more nuanced than Meyer is with the box of tissues placed on the floor. Does this represent Bella’s sadness and ache? Or is it simply an untimely head cold on the part of a band member? It remains unclear, and mystery abounds.
Verdict: Better than Twilight.
Twilight Music Girls
Analysis: Like BCP, Twilight Music Girls goes with a black-heavy wardrobe to outwardly portray the seamier aspects of loving a vampire. They pair their sartorial choices, however, with awkward finger-snapping and offbeat dance moves. Are they uncoordinated, or purposely trying to capture Bella’s teen angst? It’s hard to tell.
Verdict: Better than Twilight.
The Mitch Hansen Band
Analysis: Mitch Hansen spends the first minute of this video explaining what his song is about, why he wrote it, and how a bunch of haters have misconstrued his intentions. This is certainly one way to handle the controversy. Another would be to put down the sledgehammer and write a song that’s clear in purpose and intent.
Verdict: Meyer’s musical soul-mate.
Robert Pattinson fans are in for a treat as their favourite vampire has just revealed that he might be releasing an album.
We all know that Rob is a talented musician and his tracks on the Twilight album blew us away.
He might be concentrating on acting for now but Rob hasn’t turned his back on music completely.
Rob told MoviesOnline: “I might make an album but not through a record company or anything. I’d like to do something independent.
“I don’t care if people buy it or not. I’d just like to have it just for myself so I can work with good musicians and stuff.”
Rob hasn’t written many songs in the past but would probably pen a few for his album.
He says: “All my friends are musicians in London. They’re very talented. My best friend wrote one of the songs on the soundtrack with another friend of mine, this guy Marcus Foster who did Bobby Long.
“I went to school with Marcus. He taught me how to play guitar and stuff. He’s an amazing writer and singer and I thought to help somebody out. I’ve got nothing to lose.”

TWILIGHT star ROBERT PATTINSON has turned down the chance to contribute to the soundtrack for the vampire movie’s forthcoming sequel – because he wants to keep music as a back up career.
The British actor is a talented composer, pianist and guitarist and wrote two songs for the original movie, helping the soundtrack top the U.S. album charts upon its release last year (08).
But Pattinson insists he’s now taking a backseat to rockers Paramore, who are penning the title track to the movie’s sequel, New Moon – because pursuing music professionally was never his intention.
He tells America’s OK! magazine, “I really didn’t want it to look like I was trying to cash in. Music is my back up plan.”
First Madonna was going to be appearing in the movie, now reports are saying that instead she will be writing music for New Moon.
Like I said yesterday, I am over these rumours. Just release the cast list so we can all shut up about it (:
Do you think Madonna should write music for new moon ?

“I don’t think people should look for a contract.
“My sister works so hard to make money and I think it ruins you, I think it’s a lot easier to make money in the acting world, not that it’s easier but there aren’t so many pressures on you.
“You don’t have to be so humble, where in the music industry you have to really bow down to a lot of people to get noticed.”
And there you go !

Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and the rest of the Twilight cast enjoyed chilling in Rob’s room after filming.
Normally actors like to avoid each other off set but Rob, Kristen, Kellan and Nikki really enjoyed spending time together.
Rob told the LA Times: “It’s weird having such a big cast where everyone’s pretty much the same age.
“A lot of the time the locations were really isolated, so we were the only people we could hang out with.
Kellan Lutz added: “When we did have those hard days we would go back to Rob’s room.
“He had a couple of guitars in there and a lot of great music.
“It was really fun being able to relax and have the cast come together, having that time just to bond and not really be actors but friends.”

Check out this hot new Amazon Exclusive Twilight Music Box! This is the first image that’s been released of it to my knowledge, and I think it looks pretty nice! It’s going for $19.99–not too shabby. Here’s the full details:
The jewelry box has a glossy black finish with dark blue velvet like lining. The Cullen crest spins in front of the mirror while the box plays the classical song “Claire de Lune“. This song is heard throughout the movie and when Bella and Edward started to dance. The top of the box has a picture of Edward and Bella with the Twilight logo. One side has Edward’s picture and the other side has a picture of Bella. The front of the box has the quote, “And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb”. The box has ring holders and storage compartment for your Twilight jewelry. There is one drawer that slides out from the front. It measures 7 x 5 X 4 inches.
Twilight thin musical jewelry box with removable locket. With flip up lid and high quality from NECA
It’s available for pre-order now, and will be released on March 26th.
